Happy Birthdays
A birthday is not a happy birthday unless someone remembers. Providing that special gift to that special someone – a child of an imprisoned parent is ensuring a child is not forgotten; each child is special. Quality brand new presents are carefully selected and delivered to the child's home by prior arrangement by CMA. We are in partnership with Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) to personally deliver these presents.
‘I remember when you came last time and gave a gift to my brother. Now you’re giving one to me. Thanks so much.’ (a birthday girl) This partnership has blessed hundreds of children of prisoners on their birthday. A prisoner completes the Happy Birthday request form and the data is collated by Val Bools who makes the selection and supply of presents for timely delivery by motorbike. An appointed member of CMA delivers the present by prior arrangement with the caregiver. CMA Chaplain Norm Carter says, ‘the best part is sharing the joy of undoing the wrapping and finding out what the present is. I like to see the big smiles and laugh with the child as they decide how they will play with their new surprise from the parent who is away.’ This is putting "Happy" back into Birthdays.
