Transition Mentoring
Transform, Restore & Reconcile lives in our communitiesPrison Fellowship coordinates and promotes this program as one link in the many services needed by men and women upon being released from full time custody.
Mentors are recruited from local churches and participate as volunteers. Volunteers are receive specific and general training for their role as Christian mentors, training includes understanding the role of the mentor, understanding the common needs for post release care, including the formal role of probation and parole orders. Inmates in the last twelve months of their custody are eligible for the program and can be matched up with a willing, Christ focused, well supported and supervised mentor. In addition to Transition Mentoring, Prison Fellowship links with a range of service providers in the community to provide holistic support to the participants. |
